Today, we dive into the heart of Dakar to experience its vibrant culture and history. Our first stop is the Monument de la Renaissance Africaine, an iconic statue symbolising African resilience and strength, where you can take in panoramic views of the city. Next, we explore the Museum of Black Civilisations, a modern and inspiring space celebrating African heritage and art from across the continent. Our final stop is Phare des Mamelles, Dakar’s historic lighthouse perched on twin hills, offering stunning coastal views. This whirlwind tour will leave you with a deeper appreciation of Dakar’s past, present, and promising future.

After breakfast, we hit the road toward Saint-Louis, a city rich with history and charm, and once the heart of French West Africa. As we journey north, soak in the changing landscapes and glimpse rural Senegalese life along the way. Saint-Louis is also famed as the birthplace of Thieboudienne, the flavorful fish and rice dish considered the ancestor of West African Jollof rice. Upon arrival, settle in and enjoy the laid-back vibe of this coastal town, where history and culture meet in colourful, unforgettable ways.

Today, we set out to discover the historical charm of Saint-Louis on a guided walking tour. We’ll start at the iconic Faidherbe Bridge, an engineering marvel connecting the island city to the mainland. Next, we’ll visit the grand Governor’s Palace and explore IFAN Museum, Saint-Louis’ main museum, to delve into the city’s storied past and vibrant culture. Later, hop on a traditional horse-drawn carriage to the beach, where you can unwind by the ocean—swim, stroll along the shore, or join an optional dance activity to immerse yourself in local rhythms.

Upon arrival, settle into the tranquil beachside surroundings of Saly and unwind after the journey. As evening approaches, we’ll head to the beach for a sunset picnic, complete with local treats and refreshing drinks. Stretch out, breathe in the ocean air, and soak up the colors of the setting sun for a peaceful close to the day.
